It would be really cool to have your car run on biodiesel where your car will not only give you those extra miles that you always wanted have with the buck that you grudgingly give to the gas station owner. And finally it will also do what i really want every metal smoke oozing automobile should do-
India and especially the state of Rajasthan is promoting plantation of Jetropha plants to make hay while the sun is shining in this industry. Well though its a positive move from fossil fuel to renewable resource it involves plantation of this plant which has also been called HELL OIL by some of the farmers in India as it makes barren the soil where it shoots up. In other words it will not allow a single blade of grass to grow beneath it. Isnt that fantastic??

No. They have planted the stems of these plants or saplings as well on the farm bunds that is boundaries the farm land. As long as as it sticks to that point its well and good but wait they dont have enough land if they continue like this so they also try to thug the farmers by saying it is an income genration source for you if you do it on your field. Wow?
The implications of this are not only clear without being spoken outright but also show the direction where our automobile industry espoused with the MOEF is moving- self destruction.
But why do you care huh?. You will get cheap diesel man, why care for a stupid, illiterate farmer who grows that Basmati rice for you at an investment of 50k per season and makes you cry out in pain when you have to shell out a big Rs.100 note to buy just 1 kg of the damned thing. He makes a lot though something like 10k after a period of hard toiling and burning his back under the 48 degree Celsius sun. To add to your pain his expenses are nill, he doesnt have a car to be bothered about the petrol or diesel prices, it you who has to take the brunt of inflation not him anyways.

- left over oil which has been used for frying.
- sweet sorghum
- garbage- so abundantly available in the nook and corner of your house/city/metro/ everywhere.
- Wheat- thats why Americans pay more for their wheat as its going to gel with petrol, pray to your Gods that it shouldnt happen in our Mayavi nation.
